Renee H.C. Mills
Chief Executive Officer

FamilyCorps celebrates the appointment of Renee H.C. Mills as FamilyCorps new Chief Executive Officer.  This appointment is so special in our 40 year history because it embodies in the person of Renee-- who was referred into our family strengthening services more than five years ago-- that when your programs recognize the inherent dignity of each individual, and strength of the family unit, then the results they can achieve are unlimited.

In the five years since Renee has been with FamilyCorps, mainly as our Program Director, we have grown from an organization offering our Primary Program, Parents Anonymous in 20 counties, to a highly respected and recognized organization that offers child abuse and awareness training groups for mandated individuals through a contract with the State for all 46 counties.  Our Parenting Groups are now open to Parents, Foster Parents, Relative and Kinship Care, and the number of evidenced-based programs we offer has grown from one to six.

Our long and rich history, the aggregate number of groups and the youth, adults and families served by our programs, made us extremely adept in identifying emerging leaders through our groups, such as Renee.  Once identified, and having brought the value of her lived experience to FamilyCorps, Renee helped identify and build our  additional programs, and made the further investment of then identifying other Parent Advocates, and providing them with the our available leadership, advocacy training, and other comprehensive tools, that make them the passionate and persevering champions necessary to facilitate change. Renee’s passion and no non-sense approach is immediately infectious and recognized.  Renee currently serves on the National Parent Leadership Team for Parents Anonymous and has testified before the South Carolina Legislative and the United States Congress.

In addition to skills she has developed and honed while at FamilyCorps, Renee brings a vital clinical and administrative background.  Renee is a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor Degree in Medical Science from Gwyned Mercy College of Nursing, and holds an Associate Degree in Human Services from Montgomery County Community College in Bluebell, PA, as well as a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology, Behavioral Modification, Early Childhood Education, and Human and Social Services degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
