About FamilyCorps

FamilyCorps originally started in 1978 as Parents Anonymous® of South Carolina a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. For over 30 years Parents Anonymous® of South Carolina worked around the state to strengthen families and empower communities in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. As a statewide accredited organization and the state resource office of Parents Anonymous®, we provide training and technical assistance to individuals and agencies interested in providing the Parents Anonymous® model of Peer Support to parents in their communities.

In 2013, we rebranded our organization to FamilyCorps to include more evidence-based programs and to better serve our families. We have programs in South Carolina counties serving parents, foster parents, kinship caregivers, fathers, and teen moms. Our mission still remains in strengthening families and empowering communities to peace, wealth, and health by giving parents and caregivers support, education and resources utilizing evidence-based programs and practices.

Why peace, wealth, and health?

Our programs are proven to help families make positive changes, bringing peace into their lives.

Highly trained facilitators help navigate families to job opportunities in their community.

Both the program and the facilitators help families identify any health needs they may have, especially mental health and/or substance abuse, and assist them in getting treatment.
